Have your say on Carrick-on-Shannon’s new parking bye-laws

Illegal and free parking in Carrick-on-Shannon will be no more from June 7 this year as new bye-laws are expected to be enacted.

The draft bye-laws for the control and regulation of the parking of vehicles around the county town have been published and are available for inspection online and in Áras an Chontae, St George’s Terrace until April 19.

Motorists will only be able to park their vehicles in the areas outlined in the maps if they have a valid paid parking ticket or have a resident’s permit. The parking ticket will cost €1 per hour.

You can submit your opinions or concerns on the draft bye-laws in writing, to the Director of Services, Economic Development, Planning and Infrastructural Services, Leitrim County Council, Áras an Chontae, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim, no later than May 3.

The bye-laws will be need to be adopted by Leitrim County Council members before they can be legally enacted on the streets on June 7.
