National Volunteer Conference in Sligo

By | 21st April 2017

To celebrate Sligo’s prestigious designation as European Volunteering Capital 2017, Volunteer Ireland are delighted to hold this year’s National Volunteer Management Conference in a new city on the 30th of May. We are excited to be part of Sligo’s 2017 programme of events.

The National Volunteer Management Conference provides the opportunity to spend some quality time on personal development, networking with your volunteer management colleagues and peers and participating in a host of thought provoking masterclasses and discussions focused on volunteer recruitment, retention, training, support and management.

The conference is essential for anyone interested in volunteer management (paid or unpaid), anyone who is managing volunteers as part of their role (C&V and Corporate sector) and organisations involving volunteers.

This year we welcome Ciara Herity of Sligo VC and Marian Harkin MEP to open the conference along with Laura Hassler, Founder and Director of the powerful international volunteer led organisation Musicians without Borders.

Our masterclasses will explore the benefits of Family Volunteering, the value in Investing in Volunteers, effective use of social media, the pros and cons of rural and student volunteering, and the importance of building the best Board for your organisation.

Our case studies in the afternoon will examine interesting programmes within the area of volunteering, welcoming questions from the floor. The conference provides a day of dialogue, networking and knowledge sharing that is invaluable to any organisation.

Registration from 08:45. Conference starts at 09:45.

Hot Lunch & plenty of refreshments provided
